About TeXtreme ® TeXtreme ® develops and manufactures spread tow thin ply reinforcements that enable our customers to create ultra-light and ultra-thin products. TeXtreme ® technology combines ultra-light construction with superior mechanical properties and surface smoothness, resulting in composite products that are both lightweight and exceptionally strong. Our proprietary reinforcement technology is based on two key principles: thin-ply and Spread Tow. TeXtreme ® thin-ply technology By using thin plies that are less than 0.05 mm per layer, TeXtreme ® Technology can suppress or delay crack initiation in loaded composite structures, allowing for the creation of lighter, stiffer, and more durable composite products. Thin plies also provide the freedom to optimize your reinforcement design while simultaneously reducing weight and laminate thickness. TeXtreme ® Spread Tow technology TeXtreme ® Spread Tow technology enables us to produce thin plies using fibers with the best possible properties, resulting in increased mechanical performance. We utilize a +/-45 and 0/90 weaving technique that allows for the production of fully symmetrical thin plies in one layer, leading to layup and weight savings. Furthermore, TeXtreme ® Spread tow technology allows for the production and supply of seamless thin plies with fibers in +/-45 or 0/90 orientations, generating further layup and material savings and increased mechanical performance.

TeXtreme ® Spread Tow thin ply technology

TeXtreme ® quality TeXtreme ® products are tested to certify compliance to a comprehensive listing of internationally recognized product safety standards, among them certification to the AS9100 standard which includes certification to the ISO-9001 standard. Safety and quality always comes first With the ambition to be the global leader in Spread Tow thin ply reinforcement, quality both in our products and operations is key. At TeXtreme ® , we constantly measure customer satisfaction, we follow up, listen to the needs and offer solutions.

TeXtreme ® +/-45 Woven Spread Tow Carbon Fabrics Other fabrics, weights and widths available upon request. TeXtreme +/-45 weaving technology allows for the production of continous length Spread Tow fabrics in +/-45 degree orientation. The +/-45 fabric is ideal for applications when there is a need for torsional stiffness, such as wing skins. Compared to 0/90 and UD, the continuous +/-45 orientation saves both lay up time (no splices) and material usage.

TeXtreme ® bio-based Spread Tow Fabrics

TeXtreme ® offers bio-based Spread Tow Fabrics made from Flax fiber tapes which are woven either in 0/90 or +/-45 orientations. These sustainable pure flax reinforcements are initially available in 200gsm and starts at 1m fabric width. Besides using flax, we are dedicated to develop the range of products offered that are based on renewable natural materials. In comparison to standard flax yarn woven alternatives, TeXtreme ® Flax exhibits straighter fibers and higher fiber volume fraction leading to increased mechanical performance and weight saving. It features similar properties as a UD flax tape in 2 directions allowing for higher manufacturing efficiency. TeXtreme ® Flax can also be used for improved surface smoothness and high dampening properties. TeXtreme ® FLAX Fabrics can be used in various manufacturing processes such as vacuum infusion, Resin Transfer Molding (RTM), hand layup. Once pre-pregged, it is also suitable for press or auto- clave molding.

TeXtreme ® Spread Tow Gapped UD Other fabrics, weights and widths available upon request.

TeXtreme ® Gapped UD is a unique dry reinforcement material developed for resin infusion processes (vacuum infusion, RTM, AFP and ATL) with proven UD-prepreg performance. TeXtreme ® Gapped UD is an entirely flat (no crimp) unidirectional reinforcement which includes well controlled gaps between the fiber tows. The controlled gaps act as resin channels, securing high permeability and fast wet out without losing mechanical performance. The flatness results in very high fiber volume fraction (>60%) providing mechanical properties consistent with a UD-prepreg solution. TeXtreme ® Gapped UD material system is designed for aerospace, marine and industrial customers looking for cost effective out of autoclave solutions still with prepreg performance.

TeXtreme ® 360° High-Performance Discontinuous Fiber Composites (DFC)

TeXtreme 360° belongs to a new class of composite materials called tape-based Discontinuous Fiber Composites (DFCs) which combine in-plane isotropy, high strength and stiffness and enhanced manufacturability. TeXtreme ® 360° is made from randomly distributed ultra-thin TeXtreme ® Spread Tow Tapes, which are partially impregnated with an epoxy matrix. TeXtreme ® 360° can reach high stiffness, strength and fatigue performance which makes it a good alternative to metal alloys or even continuous fiber composites. TeXtreme ® 360° differs from the traditional Sheet Molding Compounds (SMCs) in terms of performance, design flexibility and pro - cessing. In-plane isotropy can be achieved for thin laminates with a cured plate thickness of about 0.5mm. TeXtreme ® 360° has been designed to be used in press forming/press molding processes at intermediate pressure levels (below 20 bars). Preforms of TeXtreme ® 360° are typically shaped prior to consolidation and curing. TeXtreme ® 360° can also be co-cured to other prepreg materials. TeXtreme ® 360° can also be supplied as non-impregnated using TeXtreme ® dry Spread-Tow tapes.

TeXtreme ® 0/90 Woven Spread Tow Reactive Binder (prepreg) Other weights and widths available upon request. The Reactive Binder reinforcements allow ultra-light weight reinforcements, such as Spread Tow products, to be prepregged with low resin contents. The Reactive Binder is mostly suitable for ultra-low fiber areal weight reinforcements, e.g. sub 100 gsm, where low resin contents are requested. It can also be an enabler for ultra-low resin contents on any reinforcement areal weight. The Reactive Binder has an outlife of 12 months at room temperature so refridgeration is not required for shipment or storage. It enables layups of larger, more time consuming structures that normally are limited by a prepregs outlife. It can be repeatably heated to elevated temperatures (max 80°C) for simpler draping and/or pre-stacking without ageing. The Reactive Binder is an epoxy resin system (bisphenol-A based) with minimum 150°C cure temperature. It can be used as the matrix itself on various TeXtreme ® reinforcements or as a binder using subsequent prepregging process or liquid resin composite manufacturing. The Reactive Binder is suitable for aerospace, industrial, racing and sporting goods applications. It can be supplied on TeXtreme ® narrow UD tapes, wide UD tapes, or 0/90 fabrics.
