It is a total team effort, and it is the reason we are here.” Lady Knights Basketball posted the highest team GPA of 3.74, followed by Softball with a 3.52 GPA, Baseball with a 3.47 GPA and Men’s Basketball with a 3.41 GPA. The NJCAA recognizes student-athletes with a 3.60 GPA or higher as Academic All-Americans. This honor is divided into three tiers: First Team for those with a 4.0 GPA, Second Team for those earning GPAs between 3.80 and 3.99, and Third Team for GPAs between 3.60 and 3.79. This school year, OCC had 40 student- athletes earn this honor. First Team Awards — 10 Second Team Awards — 17 Third Team Awards — 13 

OCC Blue Knight Damarion Walkup was named Great Rivers Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the year. The freshman guard from Bowling Green, Ky., averaged 18.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. He had an overall field goal percentage of 44.5 percent and was 39.4 percent from the 3-point line.

Outstanding Academic Achievement

Olney Central College student-athletes achieved an outstanding cumulative GPA, culminating in 40 players being recognized as NJCAA Academic All-Americans this year. “Once again our student-athletes did a fantastic job in the classroom,” said Athletic Director Nick Short. “We have a depart - ment-wide GPA of 3.47 for the year, which I believe is the highest in my 18 years here. This could not be done without the help our professors provide, but also people like Jodi Schneider in advising, as well as everyone else
