SUSTAINABILITY Sustainability is an all-encompassing theme and an important topic in both the media and politics. At in-lite, we are fully aware of this and increasingly recognise the need to take action to protect the environment. This is a responsibility we are beginning to feel more strongly. In recent years, we have phased out fixtures with halogen light sources, taken steps to reduce the plastic used in our packaging, and made all the LEDs in our fixtures more sustainable.
It’s also important to consider light pollution. Make sure that fixtures are always directed at a specific area and do not emit light randomly. A well-designed lighting plan contributes to both ambience and safety around the home and garden, without causing light pollution or wasting energy. Even in the way you use the fixtures and the system, steps can be taken that benefit the planet. For example, we always recommend dividing your lighting plan into different zones. This allows you to set the number of hours the fixtures operate in each zone, which can further reduce energy consumption.
