RIGHT: We chose a bold black for the perimeter cabinets but paired them with unlacquered brass hardware so that it can naturally age and patinate with time. ABOVE: The custom red oak island feels more like a piece of furniture, reminiscent of century kitchens. though, we find that people are craving colour saturation but are just too nervous to pull the trigger on “bold and moody.” They stick with options that feel safer to them, all the while not really loving the outcome. We are huge proponents of designing with your gut. By that we mean, lean into whatever design concepts and elements evoke the strongest, most positive emotion from you, whether that translates into a lighter, softer colour palette or a darker, moodier one like this kitchen that we designed for a century home in historic Charlottetown. If you find that a white colour palette maintains its appeal to you over time, then it sounds like white has your heart and you should unapologetically embrace it! Sometimes
