Have you been interested in “dipping your toe” into the world of quilting? This class is a stepping stone to traditional quilting, an easy and quick method of quilting for beginners. A small table runner or wall hanging will be completed. You must have a working knowledge of the straight stitch sewing on a machine. Sewing machines will be provided. Designed for beginners, we will have you speaking and reading Spanish in no time. You will practice the basic building blocks of the language and common idiomatic expressions. You will know enough vocabulary and grammar for simple conversations, and you will learn how to ask and answer questions. Whether you speak some Spanish and need a refresher or no Spanish, you will complete the course with the skills to communicate in Spanish. Conversational Spanish Level 2 Instructor: Cristina Sempe Designed for people who completed the beginner class, in this course you will continue to strengthen your speaking and reading skills in Spanish. You will practice the basic building blocks of the language and dive deeper into common idiomatic expressions. Learn the basics of knitting and explore your creativity in the world of fibers and yarns! Knitting will be a skill/hobby that you’ll enjoy for your entire lifetime. In our classes, you will learn to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, increase, decrease, and cable. Not to worry, you’ll learn what all those terms mean as we move through the lessons. You’ll receive a pair of knitting needles, ball of starter yarn, plenty of printed information including illustrated instructions and patterns and 9 hours of hands-on instructions and demonstrations. Exploring light, composition, and color, we will experiment with different materials including charcoal, graphite, pastels and colored pencils. Demonstrations, visual examples and handouts will be provided as well as individual attention. All levels welcome whether novice or experienced hand. Intro to Bridge Instructor: Bernard Greenspan
This course will teach the mechanics, vocabulary and scoring of the game. You will learn when to open the bidding, how to respond to the opening bid and how to continue the bidding.
