B unk beds have been a household staple for years and for good reason. Besides the fun factor they are a functional and practical solution for creating extra space for growing families and guests. Add them up and the advantages of bunking up are plentiful. Gaining space. Using vertical space that would otherwise be unused just makes sense when you are short on space. You can free up valuable floor space needed for playtime and other bedroom furniture. Developing closeness. Experts say that siblings that bunk together grow together, learning life lessons through sharing, bedtime chats and playing together. Fostering imagination. They make great play spaces as they open up children's imaginations to forts, tree houses and towers plus they make cozy reading spaces.
Abundant styles. Bunk beds come in all shapes and sizes. Loft style, single over queen, single over single, double over double, bed over desk, Murphy beds and custom built-ins. Guest Accommodations. Although they are a fantastic option for kids' sleepovers they need not be only used for children. Guest rooms, rentals or bunkies outfitted with bunk beds provide loads of extra sleeping quarters. Smart choices. Choosing a double-sized bed over a single bed (above) makes a space that will last for a very long time allowing room for growth, cuddling and future sleep overs.
