Wherever you opt to view autumn foliage, remember that fall arrives in Atlantic Canada relatively early; leaves may change locally but remain green for weeks at your destination. Keep in mind also that season can impact a location’s atmosphere dramatically. Halloween in particular creates crowds in certain spots—some predictable (Salem, Massachusetts), others less so (Shibuya, Tokyo). Outside the Halloween window, it’s important to look up local events at your destination. Have a sense of the scale of any festival or celebration taking place while you travel.
