“Tosh” Noye has been a PEI-based professional decorator for half a decade. Outside work, she also has personal experience with successful home and RV flipping. Her boutique Tosh Co. Home Store (which will open in December) will stock versatile home decor products, including unique second-hand pieces.
WHERE TO SHOP When decor-shopping on a budget, it’s helpful to peruse online brands and resources (like Amazon, Facebook Marketplace, H&M Home and IKEA) alongside brick-and-mortar shops (like HomeSense, Michaels and Walmart). Although the shops’ selections will overlap, different retailers will stand out for specific products. (For instance, I’m a fan of IKEA’s curtains, picture frames, and pillows.) There are also several second-hand shops around the Island, including Value Village and the Habitat for Humanity ReStore; I purchased my own dining-room set at the latter! (When it opens, Tosh Co. Home Store will enrich its selection of first-hand decor with occasional second-hand items.) Think in advance about your shopping process—it’s important to have specific visual plans for your home’s interior, and for how you’ll arrange and combine items you buy. Social media like Instagram and Pinterest can provide template ideas; you could also arrange a consultation with a decorator or designer.
