Tested and solid with an extra touch of old-school style, I immediately picked Hickory as a perfect blend of “cow horse meets ranch horse.” He keeps a level head and gets his job done without complaint or drama. Ride out alone or with a group, every day or intermittently, he’s cool with whatever. He tracks a cow and really comes around on one in the alley! He’s been roped off of a bunch and will be in the branding pen this spring. He’s kind and considerate of our kids when they lead him around the barn or race their bikes past. Hickory is a smooth

Where to start! Tapadero’s got that good golden color and rides with class—truly a pleasure to ride. Smooth as ice, he’s like riding a cloud; go all day and you’ll never get tired. Sidepass, open a gate, sort cows, wrangle horses—he’s “been there, done that” and never fails to amaze. Go down the trail or swim a river, he’s been all over the country doing everything you can think of. From night calving to branding, he’s seen it all. When wrangling horses, even if the others take off at a run, he stays content at your pace, unfazed by the chaos around him. I
