BLUE RIBBON PET SUPPLY This one’s for the dogs!

By Alana Lauren Photos Evan Ceretti

Fifty-six per cent of Canadians have at least one pet in their household with dogs and cats being the most popular. In 2021, the annual cost

of caring for a dog in Canada amounted to $3,724 (CAD). Canadian dog owners’ highest expenses included food, pet insurance, and professional dental care, respectively.

It is estimated that there are approximately 5.9

million dogs in Canada and approximately 35 per cent of Canadian households have a dog. It’s pretty obvious that dogs are an important part of the Canadian household. In PEI dogs are one of the most popular companion animals, and we treat them like family members. Blue Ribbon Pet Supply has the same philosophy, pets are family!
