ArtBeat - Summer 2023

Dear Friends, Kick off your summer by joining us at Heritage Community Park Saturday, June 3, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the annual Studio Arts Festival. This juried festival showcases Southern California artists and their original works of art in ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, painting, photography, fiber, and glass. The event is an excellent opportunity to find unique, handmade crafts. Admission and parking are free. As we welcome the warm season, be sure to visit the cool air amid our wonderful gallery exhibitions. Art at City Hall hosts the annual High School Art Exhibition , where local Irvine students’ exquisite work have been selected for display ranging from 2D to 3D pieces throughout the three floors of City Hall. The High School Art Exhibition concludes July 21. See an extended selection of work at cityofirvine.org/artatcityhall . The All Media opening reception takes place July 8, 2 to 4 p.m. at the Irvine Fine Arts Center with works selected by guest juror Gabriela Urtiaga, an Argentinian art historian and curator. Visit Great Park Gallery for a contemporary skateboarding exhibit and installation. For more details on the City’s current exhibitions, visit irvinefinearts.org/exhibitions . Keep up your teen’s fundamentals in art with classes in drawing and painting throughout the summer. See Page 11 for more details. Adults, looking for something new?
