Class: Senior Major: Equine Sciences When I found out I got into LOR, I called my mom crying because I was so excited. LOR to me, was another huge step in the process to solidify my interest in starting horses, and therefore a step towards the future I want to work hard to achieve. Being able to participate in LOR has reconfirmed that you can find supportive and positive communities in the equine world, and to prove to myself that even on the toughest days I would rather be working with horses over anything else.

LOR means a lot to me, providing me with a welcoming community of people that are willing to uplift the people around them. I am excited to be able to learn the unique skills involved with colt starting that extend outside the arena and about western culture in general. I feel very fortunate to be in LOR.

I am so excited to be part of this program! I’ve always been interested in training, and as my love for equine behavior grew I knew I needed to be a part of Legends of Ranching. The training methods taught are tailored to each horse, honoring their needs and giving the students a chance to learn how to individualize the methods they’re taught to a range of different personality types. These skills will help me each day of my career, and I hope to honor each horse I meet in the ways I’ve been taught here.

Being apart of the LOR program has truly been life changing. The amount of knowledge, confidence, and passion this program has given me has been immense. I can truly say I am a better person, student, and leader after my time here in the Legends of Ranching program! I want to thank Alex for the incredible leadership, dedication, and commitment she has to this program. She has become an amazing mentor and a person I will always look up to! I also want to thank Wagonhound for trusting in this program and allowing me to learn so much from their filly! I cannot say enough about this program and how lucky I am to be in it!
