Jed and Rachel Rose Hirschi invested 16 dedicated years of their lives working alongside Dr. H.B. “Woody” Bartlett at the illustrious Bartlett Ranch nestled in southeastern Wyoming. The passing of Doc in 2021 marked the end of his esteemed “Flying B” horse breeding legacy, as his legendary herd was dispersed. In the wake of this transition, Jed, Doc’s esteemed head cowboy, was bequeathed the pick of the litter: 35 mares and two studs, a treasure trove that birthed the esteemed 35 Select Stock. Among the myriad of American Quarter Horse breeding establishments across the United States, none rival the sheer mare power that Doc entrusted to Jed. These horses, boasting Flying B bloodlines, continue to stand as a testament to the epitome of quality, meticulously nurtured in accordance with Doc’s lifelong practices, principles, and visionary pursuits. Through the stewardship of 35 Select Stock, we pay homage to Doc’s memory, ensuring it endures through the grace and grandeur of these magnificent animals. Doc’s legacy is deeply intertwined with his passion for the American Quarter Horse breed. His crowning achievement was securing the prestigious AQHA Best Remuda Award in 2016, a testament to his unwavering commitment to excellence. Doc's affinity for horses was palpable in every facet of his life, whether he was saddling up his cherished “Little Cat,” traversing vast pastures in his Chevy while admiring his latest foal crop, or soaring above his herd in his plane. As each foaling season unfolds and we brand our newborns with the iconic “Flying 35,” we pay tribute to the indomitable spirit of a man who found his truest joy amidst the noble presence of his beloved horses.
