I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Purina for their generous support of our program. From sponsoring our consignor dinner to supplying feed for our horses and providing two outstanding young horses for our students to train, Purina’s contributions are invaluable. I also want to recognize Cinch Jeans for their ongoing commitment to our students, providing both apparel and thousands of dollars in scholarships that directly impact their education and future careers. At the core of Legends of Ranching—and CSU Equine Sciences— are our students. They are the future of the equine industry, and we are committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment where students from all backgrounds can thrive. One of my favorite parts of this role is selecting the cover photo for our annual sale catalog. This year, I turned to Rachel Hirschi at 35 Select Stock, and after some back-and-forth—debating options that were too editorial, the wrong orientation, or just not quite right— she sent me a photo that stopped me in my tracks. The raw, gritty power it captured was undeniable. While our program is named for the historic titans of the ranching industry, it is the broodmares that are the true legends—the foundation upon which our herds, and this industry, are built. Thank you for supporting the Legends of Ranching program. We are excited for another incredible sale and look forward to seeing the impact our students will make in the equine world.
