Paradigm pot bust in Rockland
A Rockland couple face a drug charge fol- lowing a joint police investigation. OPP and members of Project Paradigm, the joint organized crime drug enforcement unit, executed a search warrant March 18 in Rockland. Officers from both the Russell County and Hawkesbury OPP community drug action teams were involved. Police seized $1000 worth of marijuana, about $200 in Canadian currency, and an unspecified amount of drug-trafficking equipment as a result of the raid. They have charged Daniel Bellefeuille, 18, and Chloe Charrette, 18, both of Rockland, with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. The couple was released on a promise to appear at the May 6 provincial court session in L’Orignal. House spy A 37-year-old man from Alfred-Plan- tagenet Township has an April 1 court ap- pointment and it’s not a joking matter. He is charged with two counts of breach of a legal recognizance order after his ex-partner caught himwatching her home fromoutside. MAULT / STDENIS Gregory P. Mault, fils de James T. Mault et de Mary Dickson, naît le 18 août 1949 à Saskatoon, Saskatchewan et fait partie d’une famille de onze enfants. Aimant la nature et l’aventure, il passe ses étés d’adolescence avec les cadets de la marine en Colombie-Britannique et, à dix-huit ans, il joint la Marine royale canadienne à Halifax, Nouvelle- Écosse. Francine St-Denis, fille de Gaétan St-Denis et d’Agnès Lafleur, naît le 19 février 1951 à Rockland et partage sa vie avec cinq sœurs et un frère. Elle passe sa tendre jeunesse à Rockland jusqu’à ce qu’elle connaisse Gregory en 1970 lors d’une soirée discothèque à Ottawa. Le 27 mars 1971, ils célèbrent leur mariage à l’église St-Charles à Vanier, Ontario. Trois enfants naissent de leur union : Karina , le 14 février 1974 (Stephen Budzinski), un fils William et une fille Evelyn. Martine , le 22 avril 1978 (David Budzinski), deux filles, Sarah et Melodie. Mathieu , le 21 novembre 1980 (Jennifer Larocque). En 1978, Gregory et Francine emménagent à Rockland sur la rue Giroux et y demeurent toujours souhaitant vieillir également dans cette maison centenaire. Greg, homme dévoué et patient, travaille durant vingt-cinq années à OC Transpo et prend sa retraite en 2009. Durant son temps libre, il conduit des autobus scolaires avec la compagnie Lafleur, emploi auquel il excelle surtout avec des enfants plus jeunes étant déjà un bon grand-papa. Francine, femme indépendante et heureuse de sa vie conjugale et familiale, travaille au gouvernement fédéral (ACDI) durant trente-six années jusqu’à sa retraite en 2005. Elle embrasse également une carrière en politique municipale à Rockland pendant dix- neuf années consécutives.

Belanger, 19, of Rockland, is charged with theft involving an amount exceeding $5000 value. The charge resul- ted from police investigation March 16 of a complaint from the management of the Video People Store in Rockland. Police were told that the store manage- ment suspected one of the employees was stealingmoney. Investigation narrowed the list of employees to one suspect. Belanger is now scheduled for the May 20 provincial court session in L’Orignal.
Toddlers programs Working parents in need of a safe and fun place for their children to stay during the day will have two more options available in the fall. Clarence-Rockland city council has approved licensing for toddler- and-preschool programs at St. Patrick Catholic Elementary School and at École élémentaire publique Carrefour Jeunesse. City administration will work with the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario and the Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario on final details of the licensing in time for the 2015-2016 school term start. – Gregg Chamberlain
