Bursar: Job Description

The Bursar will have responsibility for the: • Management of all school premises, facilities, site management, catering, cleaning, transport, contract management and all service arrangements. • Management of relevant support and administrative staff. • Coordination of all the school policies; ensuring stakeholders have completed them and that they are up to date. • Management of Health & Safety to ensure relevant policies and procedures, required by law, are in place and delivered effectively. Membership of the School Leadership Team • Be an active member of the School Leadership Team (SLT). • Ensure that aspects of the School’s Development Plan and its targets are delivered efficiently and to best value. • Monitor and implement policies and procedures to ensure all legislative and regulatory requirements are adhered to. • Work with SLT colleagues to promote the efficient and effective use of resources. • Keep the Chief Operating Officer fully up-to-date and informed about all allocated areas of responsibility, and report any significant problems as appropriate and within a reasonable timeframe. Finance • Prepare individual school budget bids for Board consideration. • Manage individual school and site budgets. • Oversee the preparation of financial reports, and work with the Chief Operating Officer to monitor expenditure against budget reporting.

Summary

Supporting the Chief Operating Officer in managing the day-to-day operational aspects of the Sen - ior Boys’ School (Ashford, Surrey). Working with the Head to ensure effective management of the school’s operations. Part-time 52-week contract: 7.45-12.00 (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) and 12.15-16.30 on Wednesday

Main Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Bursar will ensure the effective management of the school’s operational services. The post holder will advise the Chief Operating Officer on the effective implementation of Health and Safety policies, and exercise financial and quality control over all aspects of the school Opera - tions
