Fosber Inaugurates (CONT’D FROM PAGE 41)

The previous update to the targets was made two years ago when measures improving the biodiversity and health of forests were included, as well as initiatives promoting fossil-free production at Metsä Board’s mills. Since then, the achievement of targets has been mon- itored with the help of a comprehensive set of indicators. Several key successes have been achieved to date; the share of certified wood fiber of all wood fiber sourced has risen to 92 percent. “Our updated target for certified wood fiber is 100 per- cent,” says Markku Leskelä, SVP, Development at Metsä Board. “In terms of fossil-free production, our target has already been very ambitious. 89 percent of the energy we used in 2024 was fossil-free, and our target is to continue to reach 100 percent by 2030.” Reporting according to the updated targets will begin in 2025. The sustainability targets align with Metsä Board's strategy and Metsä Group’s sustainability targets. Updates to the sustainability targets were based on a double materiality assessment carried out in 2024. Metsä Board's new or revised 2030 sustainability tar- gets include raising the target for the share of certified wood fiber to 100 perent. The previous target of over 90 percent was reached in 2023. They also aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from logistics procured by Metsä Board by 30 perent per tonne kilometre compared to the 2022 level (Scope 3, Category 4).

Fosber S.p.A., said, “We are proud to announce the open- ing of our new Service Centre in Mexico, a fundamental step in offering even faster and more efficient support to our customers in the region. This service model will be replicated in other areas of the world to ensure the same high-quality assistance wherever Fosber operates.” He adds, “What does this mean for our customers? It means we now have a team of highly qualified technicians always ready to assist. Additionally, a warehouse stocked with components available for immediate shipment, ensur- ing minimal waiting times to ensure maximum operation- al efficiency. Customer care is at the heart of our work, and with this new facility, we aim to be even closer to your needs. Thank you to our customers for their continued trust year after year.”
