FTA Announces 2022 Sustainability Excellence Award Recipients FTA has announced the results of the 2022 Sustainabil- ity Excellence Award competition. Two winners and two honorable mentions were chosen out of a record number of entries in the program’s 22-year history. The announce- ment was made on Sunday, March 13, during the banquet at FORUM 2022, FTA’s annual technical conference. The Sustainability Excellence Award is given to com- panies who demonstrate a commitment to and pursuit of sustainable package printing in one of two categories: Sustainability Program or Innovations in Sustainability. The two companies recognized as winners are: • Industrias de Plasticos SA de CV (INPLASA), of Valle de Amarateca, Francisco Morazán, Honduras, Central America, recognized in the Sustainability Programs cat- egory for its five-part project focused on clean energy and sustainable waste management. • Footprint LLC, of Gilbert, Arizona, recognized in the In- novations in Sustainability category for its technology in manufacturing plant-based fiber for container pack- aging Two companies were also awarded an honorable mention in the Innovations in Sustainability category: Sun Chemical of Parsippany, New Jersey, and TC Transconti- nental Packaging of Chicago, Illinois.
