Message from the Board of Trustees

Dear Huda Families, Assalam-o-Alaikum, It is that time of the year again when we get together and celebrate another year of success of Huda school, an institution we have all built together over the last 28 years, and at the same time renew our commitment to help it grow and prosper for many more years to come. The Huda School BOT is proud of our school’s academic excellence and strong Islamic principles. Our recent M-Step report is one of the latest evidence of our healthy academic progress, proof that we are in excellent standing, and outperforming some of the best schools in Michigan. Thanks to our students, teachers, office staff, and leaders from the administration and governing board. And of course a huge thank to our wonderful community. The enrollment in the school has steadily grown in the last years; the number of the students this year is one of the best in the history of Huda. We realize that our community has other schooling options and choosing and trusting us is a big honor that we are so proud of, and we renew our pledge to do the best we can to meet and even exceed your expectations. This is Huda’s eighth year of offering the International Baccalaureate program to Middle School students. We have seen the fruits of IB in the classroom in advancing students’ understanding of various concepts and the connections between them. Our Quranic, Arabic, and Islamic Studies Department have been working hard to enhance our student’s Islamic knowledge, with special focus on building character with high social and moral Islamic standard. Two years ago, we also launched Huda School’s Endowment Fund. With the help of Allah, who has blessed this school with a generous community and strong market performance in the last year, the fund has grown substantially in a relatively short time. As you may remember, this fund was set up with the goal to ensure the school’s long term financial stability and constantly advancing its quality of service. Please consider contributing to a such good form of Sadaqa-e-Jariah Insha Allah. Last but not least the BOT thanks the school PTO and our volunteers in general for their hard work and priceless contribution to the school. Jazakum Allah Khaira. Thank you for your trust and support. Huda School Board of Trustees.

Message from the Executive Committee

Assalamu Alaikum Dear Esteemed Parents, Students, Alumni and Friends of Huda School,

The Huda School Executive Committee welcomes you to our Annual Fundraising Banquet. The theme of the banquet this year is friendship. Today, Huda School gets a chance to thank all of our friends and supporters; may Allah (swt) continue to bless all of you and our school. Alhamdullah with your generous support, Huda has grown into one of the best Islamic schools in the nation, fusing academic enrichment with Islamic commitment to education and spirituality. Huda's middle school IB program allows our students to explore high school level biology and advanced level math. In the last few years, with the proceeds of our fundraising, we have invested in both our students and our teachers by implementing rigorous reading and writing programs. Our graduating eighth graders attend some of the most competitive high schools in Michigan. In addition to academic opportunities, what really makes Huda School special is the environment of friendship and Muslim brother and sisterhood. Our emphasis on Islamic character is not just taught in the Quran, Arabic, and Islamic Studies classes, but lived in the programs that are a part of the school's culture. Field trips, lunch collections for shelters, and middle school volunteering all highlight the importance of responsibility toward our school, our Muslim community and our global community. In that spirit of community today, we call on friends and supporters of Huda School to help us continue our tradition of excellence in the classroom and in the way of Allah (swt). Indeed there are few causes more worthy of our money and support. We ask Allah to bless you and your families, multiply your ajr and protect and preserve our beloved school. GO HUDA! Huda School Executive Committee, Br. Moqeem Syed, Sr. Ranya Obeid, Sr. Ayesha Siddique, Br. Asif Movania, Sr. Melaka Dabliz, Sr. Fareeha Shuttari, Br. Ismael Haydin

Message from the Principal

Assalamu Alaikum Dear Huda School Family,

I would like to welcome you to our Annual Fundraising Banquet. We are honored to have you here today as we celebrate Huda School’s accomplishments, staff, students, parents and future. This year we honor you the parents, the hard work, time and love that you give to your children. We, at Huda School are proud to be part of this team. To guide and teach the future leaders of this country. In the times we are living in, it is important to have a sense of identity, of knowing who we are as we define ourselves, not as others define us. The best way to do this is with a strong Islamic School that has well qualified, well trained teachers. Huda school is a place where Islam, academics and service are synthesized into future leaders with a strong character. Huda school is where academics are a priority, where being a Muslim is a way of life, where students learn how to give back to the community and most importantly where student foster friendships that will last a lifetime. Huda school is where students learn that service is the greatest objective of our lives: being a servant to God while serving humanity. These are the values we will continue to instill in our students through our motto Dream, Believe, Achieve and Serve. Over the course of this school year it has been my pleasure to lead and guide our staff in understanding our students and making their academic success our priority. I am happy to say that Huda School has a hard working, expert and creative teaching staff that brings out the best in our students. We have an environment where students are respected and honored and where staff is valued and expertise recognized, while they are given the opportunity to grow professionally. We know that our success is, first and foremost, from Allah (SWT) and by the support of our generous donors, parents and community. I look forward to a productive year and partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both their home and school. Working together in all aspects of your children’s school life will provide a lasting example of cooperation. We know a strong financial partnership with you will make a great difference in our student’s education. Join me in recommitting your financial support to Huda school. Huda school is YOUR school. Your continued financial support helps maintain the quality of our programming and together we can ensure its growth and success.

Jazakllah Khayran for joining us this evening, Mrs. Mohiuddin

Message from the Vice Principal

Asalamu Alaikum,

Dear Beloved Huda Family,

Welcome to our 2018 Annual Huda School Fundraiser & Student Performances Dinner! We are honored that you joined us today to celebrate the achievements and talents of our wonderful students. This year, Friendship is our theme - at Huda School, we are building a culture of unity, piety, and benevolence. As Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala states in Surah Al-Tawbah in the Glorious Quran, “The believers, men and women, are awliya (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another." Huda School friendship is based on ta’akhi (brotherhood/sisterhood) for the sake of Allah. We are strengthening a unity that encourages characteristics of selflessness, brotherhood/sisterhood, and kindness among our students and staff. Our Beloved Prophet peace and blessings be upon him said, “The example of the believers, in their mutual love and mercy for one another is like the example of one body, if one part feels pain, then all of the body suffers in sleeplessness and fever.” [Al-Bukhari, Muslim]. We pray that Allah keeps the Huda Family safe and unified in compassion and sincerity to one another. Huda School & Montessori looks forward to sharing an uplifting evening celebrating the accomplishments and gifts of our students. Enjoy! Jazakallah khair, Mona Helmy
