2017 Senior Men’s Golf Organization The Senior Men’s Golf Organization (SMGO) invites all ANCC members age 55 and over to participate in our men’s senior golf program in 2017. This is organized play that develops new friendships and enhances your enjoyment of the game of golf and Club facilities. The SMGO program features an ABCD scramble at 8:30 AM on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Arlington course commencing in April and continuing through October. Other tournaments may be scheduled when play dates are available. All ANCC members are welcome regardless of their handicap. If you were a member in 2016, your membership will automatically be renewed for 2017. A sign-up list for new members of the SMGO will be posted in the Arlington Golf Shop by December 1, 2016. If you do not want to participate in 2017, please indicate your decision to be deleted on the sign-up sheet at the Arlington Golf Shop or you may contact Peter Junghans at pjunghans@aol.com or (703) 836-7966. New members who may be leaving the area for the winter are encouraged to sign-up prior to departing. The 2017 dues level will be set prior to the opening of the season. Dues cover the cost of the lunch in the Clubhouse at the completion of each of the 14 tournaments...best deal in town!! Standard cart fees are charged for each event in which a member participates. A $10.00 entry fee is collected at each event for the prize pool, a dues augmentation and for the cost of coffee and pastries.
CWGO (Career Women’s Golf Organization) On November 2, 2016, CWGO had its annual End-of-Year dinner at Arlington. Thank you to all who attended to close-out another successful golfing season. We said “Goodbye” to departing Board members – Susan Walthall, Tracey Shea and Lisa Moore. Thank you for all of your hard work and a tremendous year. We also voted on and welcomed new Board members for 2016-2017: President - Laurie Bravo Vice President - Bev Winston Treasurer - Amy DeWitt Special Events Co-Chair - Jill VanTine Membership Chair - Tina Gwilliam Lisa Croteau remains as Special Events Chair and Joanne Waters will remain as Secretary . The Leaf Rule Scramble was held on October 30, 2016 at Arlington. It was a fun-filled day with a great format – the Florida Scramble. Congratulations to our first place winners with a low score of 72: Susan Walthall, Becky Harper, Ruth Seyler and Joanne Waters, and to the runners’ up with a 73 (after a tie-breaker): Tina Gwilliam, Cindy Hillburn, Maria Butler and Barbara Lancaster. Thank you to all who participated! Please check the website and your emails for Winter social events, which will be held in Arlington and Fairfax during the off-season.
