Cybersecurity – What’s the Risk? • In 2014 the Mcafee Center for Strategic and International Studies estimated the global cost of cybercrime at somewhere between $375 billion and $575 billion annually. • In 2015 a FireEye study found that 96% of the systems in their survey had been breached in some way. Of those breaches, 27% were classified as “advanced malware.” 75% of these systems were compromised in such a way that there was evidence of “command and control” communication, meaning the attackers were able to direct the progress of their attack from outside by having some level of control and feedback from internally breached systems.
