those who listen in are being inspired and comforted and blessed. A chain of prayer circles of the various churches are being registered in this morning devotional service and they aré extending the scope of their prayer lists by listing the requests which are being broadcast every morn ing. The present administration is specific in its policy .that only programs of a very distinctive and definite spir itual character shall go over the air from this station KTBI. I know not by what methods rare, But this I know, God answers prayer. I know not when He sends the word That tells us fervent prayer is heard. I know it. cometh soon or late; Therefore we need to pray and wait. I know not if the blessing sought Will come in just the way I thought. I leave my prayers with Him alone, Whose will is wiser than my own. Take I t to God Hast thou a care within, so deep I t chases from thine eyelids, sleep? To thy Redeemer take thy care, And change anxiety to prayer. Hast thou a hope with which thy heart Would feel it almost death to part? Entreat thy God that hope to crown Or give thee strength to lay it down. Whate’er the care that breaks thy rest, Whate’er the zvish that swells thy breast, Spread before God that wish that’s buried there, And change anxiety to prayer. —Author Unknown. L ittle Poem Ere you le ft your room this morning, Did you think to pray? In the name o f Christ your Saviour, Did you ask His loving favor A s a shield for today? When you met 'with great temptation, Did you think to pray? By His dying love and merit Did you claim the Holy Spirit A s your Guide and stay? When your heart zvas filled with anger, Did you think to pray? Did you plead for grace, sister, brother, That you might forgive another Who had crossed your way? When hard trials came upon you, Did you think to pray? When your soul zvas bowed in sorrozv, The joys o f Christ did you borrow A t the gates o f the day? —Author Unknozvn. •—Elisa 'M. Hickok.

' The Lord’s Great Clarifier “ A rise , and go into Damascus: and there it shall be JL \.to ld thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.” God’s great clarifier in guidance is waiting. Sometimes you draw from the faucet a glass of water which is muddy and turbid. How do you clear it? You place the glass of muddy water on your table. Moment by moment the sediment deposits on the bottom of the glass. Gradually the water grows clearer. In a few moments it is so clear that you may distinguish objects through it. It has all been brought about simply by wait ing. The law is the same in the realm of guidance. Here, too, God’s great precipitant is waiting. We face some situation needing His guidance. We seek to peer through it as through the glass of turbid water. But we cannot see. The thing to do is to wait. As we do so the situa tion clears. Waiting is the solution of it all. The vast majority of our mistakes come from neglect of it. “He that believeth shall not make haste.”— lames McConkey. <81» The S ilen t Service I F Christian service were all talking and praying in meeting and visiting the sick, it would be discouraging to some talentless people. But are our tongues the only faculties we can use for Christ ? There are ways in which even silent people can do service for God, and be a bless ing in the world. A star does not talk, but its calm, steady beam shines down continually out of the sky, and is a benediction to many. A flower cannot sing bird songs, but its sweet beauty and gentle fragrance make a blessing wherever it is seen. Be like a star in your peaceful shin ing, and many will thank God for your life. Be like a flower in your beauty and in the influence of your unself ish spirit, and you may do more to bless the world than many who talk incessantly.-— Rev. I. R. Miller, D.D.
