leadership. These visits were not ceremonial in nature, but practical and strategic, focusing on listening, assessing operational health, reinforcing constitutional authority, and building collaborative relationships. The openness and candor displayed across the Orient has been encouraging and reflects a shared desire to see the Scottish Rite flourish in both form and substance.
Consistory No. 25 led by CIC SP Leroy Poindexter, 32°. Equally important during this period has been the implementation of an ongoing administrative audit designed to bring clarity and structure to the active membership roles of each Consistory and to properly organize the archives of the Orient. This effort is strengthening institutional memory, ensuring accurate records, and aligning operational practices with Supreme Council constitutional requirements. Accountability is not punitive; it is preservative—and this process is already yielding tangible improvements in efficiency and transparency. On the national level, we have seen exemplary cooperation in support of United Supreme Council initiatives. This year marked 100% submission of advertisements from each Consistory for the United Supreme Council ’ s Annual Souvenir Journal—an achievement that reflects unity, discipline, and shared responsibility. In addition, there has been a renewed push for each Sovereign Grand Inspector General to submit an ad, further reinforcing collective ownership of United Supreme Council initiatives. Support for the United Supreme Council Annual Raffle has also increased significantly. The proceeds from this year ’ s raffle will be directed toward much-needed repairs and restoration of the Scottish Rite Cathedral—an edifice that stands not only as a physical structure, but as a symbol of our heritage, labor, and sacrifice. The willingness of Sublime Princes and Consistories to invest in this effort speaks volumes about their commitment to preserving the legacy entrusted to us. Taken together, these efforts— growth in membership, strengthened administration, cooperative fundraising, and inter-jurisdictional unity—reflect a Rite that is moving forward with intention. Titles alone do not sustain institutions; disciplined leadership, shared sacrifice, and principled action does. As we continue this work, I remain steadfast in my commitment to serve the United Supreme Council, the Orient of Indiana, and the members with integrity, clarity, and resolve.
Sovereign Grand Inspector General Dr. Eugene Anderson Jr., 33 o , Deputy
From October 2025 to the present, the work of the Scottish Rite within the Orient of Indiana, has been marked by purposeful expansion, strengthened accountability, and renewed cooperation across the state. This period has required visible leadership, consistent engagement, and a shared commitment to the long-term vitality of the Rite. Throughout this season, the Orient of Indiana had productive visits to multiple Orients (Illinois, Ohio, Michigan) and we are grateful to Deputies SGIG Melvin Frierson, 33° (IL), SGIG Carl A. Williams, 33° (OH), and SGIG Christopher Buck, 33° (MI) for their gracious invitations and hospitality. Indiana is eternally in your debt; we appreciate the warm fellowship, and the opportunity to learn and to grow from the experience of visiting your respective Orient. Additionally, I have visited Consistories within Indiana, engaging directly with Grand Inspectors General, Sublime Princes, Consistory officers, and Valley
Of particular note has been the continued collaboration between the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Indiana and its constituent Lodges with the Orient of Indiana. Worshipful Masters across the jurisdiction have demonstrated a clear willingness to support the work of the Rite, encouraging qualified Master Masons to advance, while actively partnering in recruitment and education efforts. As a result, the Orient of Indiana is experiencing measurable growth, with a significant number of new Sublime Princes recently receiving the Scottish Rite degrees and additional candidates already in the pipeline preparing to take that next step in their Masonic journey. Congratulations to Marion Consistory No. 60 led by CIC SP Clifford Barlow, 32° and Constantine
