New Jersey in 135 years to serve the United Supreme Council. In honor of this distinguished achievement, SGIG Oglesby ’ s family, under the gracious leadership of his devoted wife, Mrs. Angela Oglesby, hosted an elegant evening dinner program. Family, friends, and supporters gathered to offer reflections, accomplishments, and service to the Craft. The celebration was further distinguished by the presence of esteemed members of the United Supreme Council, including SGIG Dr. Melvin J. Bazemore, Sovereign Grand Commander; SGIGs Edward M. Brooks, II; Raynard W. Hughes; Roy J. Mays; Sean R. Snead; Irvin C. Oglesby; Donald C. Jones; Elmer M. Evans; and Rev. Hermon J. Simpson; Lathan D. Franks and the officers of the NJCOD and the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of New Jersey. The program was thoughtfully coordinated, well attended, and thoroughly enjoyed by all—a fitting celebration for a man who has faithfully labored and is truly deserving of all honors bestowed upon him. Necrology—Exemplification of the Scottish Rite Funeral/Ring Service Mt. Calvary Consistory ’ s Degree Team entered with dignity and solemnity to perform the Burial Service. SGIG James G. Allen, Grand Secretary, reverently read the names of those who took their final bow on this side of Heaven, honoring their earthly labors and faithful service to God and humanity. GIG Rev. Dr. Victor M. Lee, Grand Prior, NJCOD, then proclaimed the Word of God from St. Mark, Chapter 10, Verse 35. His message, entitled “ It ’ s Not the Chair, It ’ s the Cup ” reminded all in attendance that true greatness is not found in position, but in one ’ s willingness to drink of the cup of service and sacrifice. The message was both inspiring and comforting.

Closing Message: SGIG McNeil, thanked everyone for the support stating “ May we all continue to serve the NJCOD. ” A Human Chain for the closed the session.
