Orient of Connecticut Sovereign Grand Inspector General Ronald A. Thomas Sr., Deputy
Members of the Orient have also been supporting other Orients within the Northern Jurisdiction and elsewhere. In October 2025, I had the opportunity to attend the Council of Deliberation Annual Sessions for the Orients of Illinois and Kansas. Credit goes to Illustrious Deputy Melvin Frierson, Deputy for the Orient of Illinois, and Illustrious Deputy Darryl C. White, Deputy for the Orient of Kansas, and their respective teams for the successful execution of their annual sessions. Additionally, on October 4, 2025, SGIG Lee attended a Princes and Peers Banquet for Sunshine City Consistory No. 147, Valley of St. Petersburg, Orient of Florida, USC 33°, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Prince Hall Affiliation, Southern Jurisdiction U.S.A., Inc. This event occurs annually to recognize the membership and celebrate the accomplishments of the Consistory that took place throughout the year.
The Orient of Connecticut continues to strive in its efforts to reclaim members and bring them back to our rolls. We are also reaching out to encourage those members who are not as active, not only to remind them of their obligation but also to let them know that their presence is surely missed and that they are vital components in our fraternity. Our quest for upward growth has not been without many challenges and setbacks. We lost several of our members since our last Orient report, III Josephus Balenger, III Marshall Wells, III Jimmy Wilson, III Wayne Lee, and S.P. Samuel Anderson. We also mourn the passing of our Golden Circle members; PLLR Roberta Turner, PSGLLR Fannie Irene Pittman and LL Zildred Sawyer. Connecticut is continuing its quest to enhance the Sottish Rite experience, not only for our members but also for new initiates coming into our fold. We are engaged in strengthening the Scottish Rite Bodies with Sublime Princes and enhancing their knowledge with the assistance of the Grand Inspectors General and Sovereign Grand Inspectors General. It is a work in progress. Connecticut sponsored its 13th Annual Silver Eagle Awards Luncheon at Hartog Activity Room, MasoniCare Ashlar Village in Wallingford, CT. This year we honored Reverend Dr. Kristopher S. Reese, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Claudette E. Rainey, ARRN, State Senator Doug McCory, The Late Gregory D. Barnetts, Community Advocate. Special Recognition was given to Edward E. Cherry, Past Deputy of the Orient, Alfred J. Lobo, Past
As we move through 2025 into 2026, the Orient of the Far East will continue to maintain its momentum and drive. We are fortunate to have members working at all levels of Scottish Rite Masonry. I thank all of them for their efforts. I believe we are making a significant impact and truly enhancing the Scottish Rite experience for our members.
