one who knows the dear Lord thinks; “who wouldn’t be a Christian?” But we have to remember there is an adversary in the world, and he it is who binds the minds o f those who believe not, so that when the glorious gospel o f the blessed God is presented to sinnars they cannot see Jesus as we see Him. Alas, to them “ He hath n a form nor comeliness, and there is no beauty that they should desire Him,”'hence T N OUR final call one afternoon, we were met at the door by an elderly gentleman, who was in very poor health and alone in the world. He said, “ Do you know, I used to be able to repeat any Amount o f Scripture, and was for many years a teacher o f the Word, but every thing is a blank to me now”—and he looked very unhappy. W e were privileged to show him out o f the W ord something o f God’s love and faithfulness, and to see a new light come into his face. As we left he said, “I can hardly thank you enough for this call; it has so refreshed my mind about things which I thought had forever gone from me.” At the door o f one house where a'Bible Woman in conversation asked the question as to whether they knew the Lord, the pleasant-faced woman replied, “ No, no one in this house cares about such things.” She said her daughter was at home that day sick. The worker asked if she might see her, and was invited to enter. She was met 'by -a very sweet young woman who said she had been in her present position fifteen months, and this was only the third day she had lost through illness in that time. With the advent o f cool weather we are planning for praying for and expecting a great month o f success. had been torn up over twenty years before and they never got another. The next week the Bible woman again visited the home; found the daughter had told her mother o f the decision she had made ; that they had been reading the Bible together, and that God had been speaking to her through the Word and her daughter’s testimony; then in the same room where the week before the daughter had accepted Christ, now the mother yielded her life to the Lord, and in the prayer that she made, in a voice choked with sobs and tears, asked the Lord to help her show the other children the way to Him by lier life. Thus our Master gives to us little cases to cheer and encouragé us on the way. Testimonies from Members o f Bible Classes : One woman who was saved and then became a member o f one o f the Bible classes, said : “I didn’t use to care for the Bible very much, but I never knew one could be so changed.
