Civil Marriages and Partnerships in Cambridgeshire

Preparing for Your Ceremony If your ceremony is in a Council Ceremony Room please arrive about 15 minutes before it is due to begin. If it is at an Approved Venue we recommend that you arrive at least 30 minutes before it is due to begin. The registration staff will see you both, together or separately, before the ceremony begins. They will confirm and update where necessary the details given at the time of your notice. This is to ensure that the details on the schedule are correct on the day. You need to provide two witnesses who can be relatives or friends, ideally over 18, who must be able to speak and understand English. They must be present throughout the ceremony. If the ceremony is held outside, within a structure that has been approved for ceremonies, the witnesses must be within the structure throughout the ceremony.

If you want to choose your own music for the ceremony you will need to provide digital copies of your music on the day. Please take a look at our website for details about supplying music. Your photographer (or nominated person) can take non-flash photographs throughout the ceremony. Guests can be invited to take photographs at specific points during the ceremony. If you are having a video, the videographer needs to be in a static position. No photographs or video can be taken of the schedule, although a mock-up version is available for photo opportunities.
