focused on how airplanes fly, how weather conditions affect flight, flight and the human body, and flight navigation. The course is designed to complement materials taught in math, physics, and other science related courses. The book is aligned with the National Science Education Standards , Math Standards and Expectations , and ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education ) National Educational Technology Standards. In this course, every lesson includes a “Quick Write”, a short story related to the lesso n and a list of vocabulary words. This course centered on “ How Airplanes Fly” discusses the elements of flight, working through flight controls and weather conditions, flight and the human body flying from here to there. Leadership Education II: Leadership Education 200 stresses communications skills and cadet corps activities. Much information is provided on communicating effectively, understanding groups and teams, preparing for leadership, solving conflicts and problems, and personal development. Written Reports and speeches compliment the academic materials. Cadet corps activities include holding positions of greater responsibility in the planning and execution of corps projects. Wellness/Physical Fitness: This portion will incorporate the Cadet Health and Wellness Program (CHWP). The CHWP is an exercise program focused upon individual base line improvements with the goal of achieving a Presidential Physical Fitness standard calculated with age and gender. The goal of the CHWP is to motivate JROTC cadets to lead active, healthy lifestyles beyond program requirements and into their adult lives. Cadets will be given the opportunity to put into practice the wellness concepts that are taught in Leadership Education I.

AEROSPACE SCIENCE III (11th, 12th Grades) (1 Credit) Prerequisite: Aerospace Science II or equivalent Aerospace Science course

The third year is a science course that includes Aerospace Science: Exploring Space, The High Frontier: An Introduction to Astronomy . The course begins with the study of the space environment from the earliest days of interest in astronomy and early ideas of the heavens, through the Renaissance, and on into modern astronomy. It provides an in-depth study of the Earth, Sun, Moon, and solar system, including the terrestrial and the outer planters. It discusses issues critical to travel in the upper atmosphere such as orbits and trajectories, unmanned satellites, and space probes. Leadership Education III: Life Skills and Career Opportunities, Second Edition, provides an essential component of leadership education for today’s high school students. This course is designed to prepare students for life after high school in the high-tech, globally oriented, and diverse workplace of the 21st century. AEROSPACE SCIENCE IV (12th Grade) (1 Credit) Prerequisite: Aerospace Science II or equivalent Aerospace Science course

The fourth year is a management course that includes Management of the Cadet Corps: The cadets manage the entire corps during their fourth year in the Air Force Junior ROTC program. This hands-on experience affords cadets the opportunity to put theories of previous leadership courses into practice. Planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, controlling, and decision- making will be done by cadets. They will put into practice their communication, decision- making, personal-interaction, managerial, and organizational skills.
