The purpose of this course is to provide coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Education & Training careers; it provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation- specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects of the Education & Training careers.

A requirement for Graduation, Health Education includes a study of health habits, diseases, systems of the body, emotional health, CPR, and safety. It provides current information in such areas as family living, nutrition, weight control, physical fitness, substance use and abuse, and mental health. It discusses the individual's responsibility for his/her own health and ways to use good decision-making skills to make better life-style choices.

Boys Physical Education is offered to all male students in high school. Instruction includes AAHPERD Youth Fitness Program, flag football, softball, basketball, volleyball, weight lifting, and tennis. A uniform is required .

Girls Physical Education places emphasis on motor skills, health-related fitness, and lifetime sports. In the fall semester, students participate in a vigorous program of physical fitness and the following sports activities: tennis, volleyball, basketball, softball, and flag football. A uniform consisting of red shorts and white t-shirt is required .

ATHLETICS-FOOTBALL (no credit) Prerequisite: The players must meet Arkansas Activity Association residence requirements, have a current physical, have a current parent consent form, maintain a 2.0 grade point average, pass four Arkansas Activity Association solid subjects each semester, and have a record of good citizenship. The football program consists of varsity, junior varsity, and sophomore teams. The sophomore and junior varsity programs are designed to prepare players for varsity competitions. The sophomore/junior varsity teams play 10 regular season games. In addition to the requirements listed above, players will have to participate in football off-season the semester prior to the regular season with the following exception: (1) the player was participating in an in-season sport during the second semester, (2) the player
