USA MEN’S AMERICUP TEAM 2025 RESULTS

The United States defeated Canada to earn the bronze medal at the 2025 FIBA Men’s AmeriCup, claiming third place for the second consecu- tive tournament. The USA opened play with a 105-93 overtime win over the Bahamas. After trailing by five at halftime, the Americans stormed back to take a nine-point lead in the fourth quarter. The Bahamas forced overtime, but Zach Auguste’s 18 points in the second half and extra period secured the win. Auguste finished with 28 points, while Tyler Cavanaugh added 13 points and 14 rebounds. In their second game, the United States fell to Uruguay, 86-85. The Americans led by as many as seven in the third quarter before Uruguay regained control late and held off the USA’s comeback attempt to even the record at 1-1. The USA closed group play with a 90-78 win over Brazil to move to the top of Group A. The Americans took over in the fourth quarter, holding Brazil to 11 points and finishing on a 20-6 run. Javonte Smart scored 22 points to lead four players in double figures. A rematch with Uruguay awaited in the quarterfinals, and the USA responded with a revenge win. Smart stayed hot with 27 points, and the Americans dominated the second half, limiting Uruguay to 10 fourth-quarter points to advance to the semifinals against Brazil. Facing Brazil again, the United States built a 14-point halftime lead behind Langston Galloway’s 22 first-half points. The USA led by as many as 20 in the third quarter before Brazil rallied late, hitting four 3-pointers in the final two minutes to hand the Americans a 92-77 loss. The United States rebounded in the bronze medal game, topping Canada 90-85. Cavanaugh and Smart each scored 21 points, and Jerian Grant dished seven assists. The Americans led by as many as 17 in the second half and held off a late Canadian push to secure the bronze. Smart was named to the All-Star Five after averaging 15.7 points per game at the AmeriCup.
