to increase. We cannot become over ly exercised over the world events because Jesus said, “These things must come to pass.” He doesn’t say push the panic button or to get ex cited, but rather to look up and know that our redemption draweth nigh. He wants to give us, His children, triumph over death, sin, worry, des peration, frustration, you name it. We can be more than conquerors through Christ who loved us and gave Himself for us. The Saviour went away in a cloud and He will come back again in the same manner. May the Lord give us that upward look today and tomorrow and in the days to come! Rejoice always! The powers of heaven are going to be shaken, but let us not get shaken over this. May we simply be looking for that blessed hope and the glori ous appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. GOD'S PERFECT WAYS Dr. James M. Gray, the well-known Bible teacher, orcce told about his long convalescence following a serious ill ness. His doctors urged him to change his surroundings, making a trip to a place like England. The thought of the visit w a s thrilling to contemplate. Then, just before his departure, he sus tained another unexpected attack. Al though deeply disappointed, Dr. Gray still felt there was perhaps something the Lord wanted to tell him while he was on his back. A few weeks later, he couldn’t but wonder as newspaper head lines emblazoned the. tragic news that the ship on which he would have sailed struck a reef and sank almost instantly with the loss of many lives. The Lord, who had helped him in the past, had once again perfectly directed his way, protecting him from physical death. No wonder the Psalmist said of the Lord, “But as for God, His ways are per fect.” * * •- Take heart, for when God is going to do something wonderful. He begins with a difficulty; when He's going to do some thing spectacular He begins with an im possibility. 18

in the conversation. He was going to Rome to attend an astronomer’s congress. When he learned I was a Christian, he remarked, “There are some marvelous signs taking place in the heavens right now. We're going to see some phenomena which will stagger all of us. We astronomers re fer to the skies now as the Bethlehem heavens. The stars are in such a "PERHAPS TODAY!" Saints of God, the Lord is coming Oh, the greatness of that day, When from every clirrte and nation His redeemed are caught away; When from all earth's sin and sorrow, All its clashing and its strife, Oh, the grandeur of that coming For the saints who look for Him! Earth's sublimest, richest splendour 'Gainst it must be poor and dim. Grandeur— not of things that perish, Striking pageant or array— But of peerless, matchless marvel, Nevermore to pass away. Then the glory of that coming, When He comes as King of kings; When ten thousand times ten thou sand Ransomed souls with Him He brings; When with them, we stand before Him, Clothed, but in immortal dress, Finite mind must fail to picture Such exceeding gloriousness. — J. Danson Smith What a thrilling age in which for us to be living! Luke 19:25 was giv en centuries ago, yet we can see more clearly today the fulfillment of these truths. The Scripture tells us that some terrible things are going to take place. As a result, men’s hearts are going to collapse. More people are having heart attacks than ever before. Suicide rates continue We are taken— in an instant. And begin the deathless life. position as they were in the time of Christ.”
