DID YOU KNOW?

Natural gas comes from plants and animals that died millions of years ago. Pieces of these old plants and animals found underground are called fossils. After a long time, these plant and animal materials turn into fossil fuels that can be burned to produce light, heat and power. Natural gas is a fossil fuel.

Most fossils are found in sedimentary rocks like limestone, sandstone clay and chalk. To find them, look along the seashore or dried-up river and stream beds.
