EWYORK CITY, NY — “Our roster grows as more remarkable
women achieve excellence and prominence in the industry,” said Lenore Janis , president of Professional Women in Construction (PWC) , intro- ducing the honorees at PWC’s annual Salute to Women of Achievement luncheon held October 15 at Club 101 in New York City. Connie DeLaigle, Port Authority of NY & NJ (PANYNJ), was the event chair. Janis paid tribute to the presidents of two of PWC’s chapters, Carolyn Kurth, CPA, CFE , senior manag- er at CohnReznick , presi- dent of PWC-CT and “one of the founders of the first PWC chapter”; and Carolyn Pugaczewski, CIC, CRIS , president of M. Adams & As- sociates , president of PWC- NJ who “injected life, energy and vigor” into the chapter. Pugaczewski said, “We made a commitment to be- come a force in the New Jer- sey construction industry and we are well on our way.” Kurth said, “In 2005 we had a vision” and thanked Janis for “her dream and her team” that led the way. n Jarmel Kizel Architects & Engs. awards NJIT student scholarship LIVINGSTON, NJ —J arm- el Kizel Architects and Engi- neers, Inc. recently awarded a scholarship to Ameet Singh a fifth year student at NJIT’s Col- lege of Architecture and Design (CoAD). Ameet is majoring in architecture at the school and resides in Carteret, NJ. Matthew Jarmel, AIA, MBA, principal of Jarmel Ki- zel, NJIT Alumnus and Chair of the Dean’s Executive Coun- cil, presented Ameet with the scholarship at the 32nd Annual Student Scholarship awards ceremony, which was held at NJIT on September 22nd. “My partners and I at Jarmel Kizel are honored to recognize students that are committed to their studies and dedicated to becoming future leaders in our profession,” he said. “In choosing Ameet for this schol- arship, we learned of her love for contemporary architecture and her desire to pursue a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development. n
