L iam Adamson of Haldane Construction Services Ltd in Scotland has been named a national Apprentice of the Year. He is a carpentry apprentice who studies through City College Norwich. A bit about Liam Adamson Adamson, now 34, has been a dedicated member of the Haldane Construction team since 2013. Starting as a general labourer, he worked with subcontracting bricklayers, moving materials and mixing cement. Through observation and dedication, he absorbed the art of bricklaying, eventually picking up the trowel himself. Over the coming years, Adamson’s passion for bricklaying shone through as he confidently tackled various brickwork tasks. Recognising his talent and the industry’s demand for skilled bricklayers, along with the company’s need to create a sustainable in-house team, he was offered an adult bricklaying apprenticeship. His commitment to learning and perfecting his trade has been truly inspiring. He dedicated evenings and weekends to mastering techniques, ensuring he maximises the apprenticeship opportunity. Now in his fourth year, he is on the cusp of full qualification.
