The book of Hebrews is filled with wonderful and practical exhor tations to believers concerning the Lord Jesus Christ. His superiority in every area is carefully given. This is actually an open letter to the Jews. Going without the camp meant that to find eternal life they would have to go outside of official Judaism and receive the Saviour’s perfect sacri fice for sin. The writer, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, is seeking to show Israel that when the temple is destroyed their faith in Christ still has a firmer rooting. We are not to look at carnal ordi nances of this world but unto the Lord who ministers in a heavenly sanctuary. There is only one place where man can find peace with God, and enjoy the promised peace of God, and that is through a saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (John 5 :24, Eph. 2:8, 9).
