basket, the baby cried. The princess felt sorry for him and knew that this was one of the Hebrew’s children. Miriam came quickly to the princess to ask if she should find a Hebrew woman to care for the baby. Miriam ran to her own mother and brought her to the princess who promised to pay her well if she would care for her own baby! How happy the family was as they thanked God for His wonderful care of their baby. Later the baby became the son of the princess and was called Moses which meant “ Drawn out of the water.” “ The Lord is my helper . . . I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” As you have heard of God’s care for Abraham and Jacob and Joseph and Moses, are you not thrilled that this same God is caring for you if you have received His Son as your Saviour? One cannot speak too highly of the “ Index” system created by Dr. Scofield. Writing on “ The Use Of The Index” , he says, “ Perhaps the best service of the Index to the Bible preacher is in the suggestion of series of sermons on the great themes of Scripture. The expe rience of the great constructive minis ters is conclusive that no other form of teaching so permanently interests con gregations. They soon come to feel that they are “getting somewhere.” Dr. Sco field then goes on to cite the central theme of the Bible, namely, Christ. “ The Index will be found to refer to the most important lines of truth concerning Christ. From these may be selected se ries of sermon subjects which will en able the preacher to give connected studies of that supreme Person, once a year through many years, without repe tition. . . . The Index will open the door to the mighty riches of the Bible.” As these are momentous days, days heavy with prophetic significance, it is our solemn responsibility to seek a right understanding of our times. Seekers after a true interpretation of current and coming events must have a reliable guide, and a Scofield Bible is just this. There may be one or two minor details some may disagree with Dr. Scofield on, but for an unfolding of dispensational teaching as a whole, he is a safe teacher to follow. Multitudes of Christians could testify that their desire for Prophecy was stimulated by reading their Scofield Bible. Because an investment in this re nowned Bible brings rich dividends, we have no hesitation in advocating the furtherance of its knowledge and in fluence. If a person had only enough money to buy one soul-enriching book, he would manifest the greatest wisdom in taking as a life-long friend a Scofield Reference Bible.
