They will have to pay attention, because they are going to form word chains. First model the game. I say a word, “butterfly”. The next person has to repeat my word and add a word, “butterfly, orange”. The next person has to repeat all the previous words and add another word... until someone forgets. Put students in groups of three. Ask them to play the game. Monitor and provide help with pronunciation.

Warm Up Play Simon Says. Remind them of the rules of the game. Say things like, Act like a jaguar. Move your mouth like a fish. Jump like a cricket. Give the commands as quickly as possible to make the game exciting. The last student standing wins.
