Tom lives on a farm in the country. He is happy because his cousin Bo is arriving for a visit. Bo lives in the city. – “Tom! Here I am!”, Bo says,“Your farm is beautiful.”

Marie’s favorite pastime was riding her bicycle. She went on a bicycle tour in France with her husband, Pierre.
Marie won prizes for her work. She won a Nobel Prize in physics
and another Nobel Prize in chemistry.

Olivia is in second grade. She is a good student. She likes school. Olivia’s best friends are Martin, Clara and Alex. They always play with a ball. They have a lot of fun. Olivia kicks the ball really hard. Oops!

The ball is spinning really fast. Oh, listen! There is a loud crash. The ball goes through a window. It breaks the window!

Mr. Martin asks,“Who was it?” but nobody answers. Mr. Martin asks again,“Who was it?” Olivia is afraid. Olivia says,“It was Clara!” 15
Clara is surprised. She says,“No, not me! Olivia broke the window.” Olivia says,“No, not me! Clara broke the window.” Clara says,“No, not me! Olivia broke the window.” Mr. Martin says,“To my ofce!”

At the principal’s ofce, Clara cries. Olivia feels bad. She is sorry for Clara. Clara is in trouble now. Olivia says,“Clara is innocent. I broke the window with the ball. It was an accident.”

Mr. Martin says,“See Olivia, accidents happen. It is better to tell the truth. Never lie.” “I’m sorry Clara,” says Olivia. “It’s OK,” says Clara.“Still friends?” “Best friends!” says Olivia. 18

Charlie is on the bus. His backpack is open. His book and key are not there! He is sad.

The street sweeper is sweeping the street. He sees a book and a key on the ground. He picks them up. He opens the book and reads Charlie Smith. The street sweeper knows Charlie Smith. He takes the book and key with him. 27
The street sweeper sees the policewoman near the supermarket. “Hi, Ofcer Jones”, he says. “Can you give Charlie his book and key?” “Sure!” says Ofcer Jones.

Ofcer Jones has an emergency. She sees the mailman. “Hi, Mr. Rose. Can you give Charlie his book and keys? He’s at school.”

Mr. Rose rides his bike as fast as he can.
He reaches the school. He sees the children getting off the school bus. He sees Charlie.
