2024 ASNA Conference Guide

Welcome to the Annual State Conference!

On behalf of the Alabama School Nutrition Association, I am delighted to extend a warm and festive welcome to each of you to the Magic City. This year, our state association’s theme inspired you to Dream. Explore. Discover. It challenged each member to strengthen their involvement and engagement in ASNA as numerous opportunities awaited for one to grow as a member, a leader and as a school nutrition professional. As we start this exciting weekend together, I once again urge you to take advantage of the learning opportunities this conference provides as it serves as a platform to explore innovative ideas, discover best practices, and strengthen the bonds that make our association a dynamic force. Additionally, we will recognize the incredible dedication and hard work that our members bring to the school nutrition community. Throughout the conference, you will have the opportunity to engage with industry experts, attend insightful education sessions, and connect with colleagues who share your same passion for school nutrition. Together, let's create a standard of school nutrition excellence that will resonate far beyond these walls, positively impacting the lives of the students we serve. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Glenda McClyde, ASNA President- Elect and conference planner, and Sonja Anthony, ASNA Executive Director, along with our industry sponsors, speakers and many volunteers who have worked tirelessly to make this event possible. Your commitment to excellence has truly set the stage for a memorable and enriching experience. As we dive into the festivities of Mardi Gras in the Magic City , may this conference be a source of inspiration, learning, and rejuvenation. Emma Anne Hallman, SNS State President Haleyville City Schools Child Nutrition Director It’s Mardi Gras Time in the Magic City! Welcome to all who have traveled both far and near. Glenda McClyde, ASNA President-Elect has been busy planning a host of phenomenal speakers, engaging activities and all around exciting venues for the conference. She has even planned a menu to include a few New Orleans favorites!! Plan to be invigorated and wowed as you move throughout the convention center. There will be hostesses available to direct you to all events. Just ask and they will be eager to assist. For those “veteran” conference attendees, the exhibits have returned to the full exhibit halls so pace yourself as you make your rounds. During your visit on the exhibit floor, please stop for a moment to thank our exhibitors for their support of the Alabama School Nutrition Association. We would not be able to have an event of this magnitude if it were not for their support. They have expended a great deal of time and effort in making sure your experience is noteworthy. There will be many exciting items to see, test and sample. Enjoy the many networking and educational opportunities and above all have a great conference. Laissez les bons temps rouler….LET THE GOOD TIME ROLL!!
