It is important to develop your strategy now and lay the groundwork for your employee recruitment process. You will have greater success in recruiting the right number of employees to grow the business if you develop MANY sources for potential applicants. Do not count on any “one” source for applicants, rather cultivate and use as many as possible. As you develop your recruiting plan, refer to your demographic information. This may be helpful in pinpointing areas where your employees may live. This is an important piece in your employee recruiting strategy, as you will target these areas directly in your recruiting efforts. 1.16.1 Employee Referrals The best source for finding new employees will be your existing employee base. Employees will pre-screen and then refer people who reflect favorably upon themselves and have characteristics and expectations that are compatible with MOLLY MAID. Work hard to retain the employees you have by creating and maintaining a good atmosphere so that your good people stay and want to bring in other people like them. 1.16.2 Community Recruiting Options Making the time to investigate the job programs or other resources provided through organizations in your local community is an excellent use of your time and can provide solid referrals over time. Spend time each day visiting with and calling organizations or community groups to see what kind of programs they provide, or if there are other ways you can plug into sources of new employees. It is important that you begin your employee recruitment work now, even before you attend Initial Training. There are several things you can begin now to help fill your pipeline of potential employees so when you return from Initial Training you can get your business moving quickly. These steps are outlined later in this section. Page 22
