Listeners will be greatly interested in the extensive ministry which Mr. Bennard has carried on through the yeors and also he will tell how he received the challenge and inspiration to compose the beloved song which tells of our Saviour's love and sacrifice. Rev. Bennard now lives in the Los Angeles area and is a member of the historic downtown Church of the Open Door. He is an excellent Bible teacher and conference speaker as well as composer of deeply spiritual selections. YOUR GIFTS MAKE POSSIBLE THE CONSECRATED 46-YEAR-OLD WORK OF THE ...

TRAINING HUNDREDS OF CHRIST-DEDICATED YOUNG PEOPLE TODAY ... TO BECOME YOUR ... ~Mu•ieaar~• ol 'l'o•orroll"'

There is an ancient story known as "The Foble of the Magic Skin," which supposedly gave the wearer power to get anything he wonted; but everytime it grat– ified his wishes, the skin shrank and compressed him into smaller dimensions until, by and by, with the lost wish life itself was crushed out.

Today, we hove another word for the Magic Skin, for we know it better as selfishness. How often we foil to say "no" to our own dCsires so that we may soy "yes" to the command of Christ. How often we indulge in things for our own pleasure and forget the needs of a dying world about us. Mases re– nounced the pleasures and ·treasures of Egypt for the sake of o higher recompense of reword for Moses hod a higher colling. That is why we ore so thankful doil~ to each of you for helping us to train these many hundreds of young people, who are not concerned what their personal socrifice might be so that Christ alone may be magnified in their lives, here at home as well as in every port of the world. How selfish are you with what the Lord hos given? Moy God enrich and bless each of your live• this month for His honor and glory. Sincerely yours in Christ, -bid~ God hath not promised skies always blue, Flower strewn pathways all our lives thrnugh, God hath not promised sun without rain, Joy without sorrow, peace without pain. But God hath promised strength for the day, Rest for the laborer, light on the way, Grace for the trial, help from above, Unfailing sympathy, undying love.

BEHIND THE MICROPHONE By MIKE FRITE

"I guess I'm lost without a micro– phone or a vacuum tube in my hand," smilingly pronounced BIOLA Hour engineer, David Crane in telling about his background before coming to

Los Angeles to receive his training at the Bible Institute. Born in Hong Kong, China of missionary parents in 1926, Dave lived in the Orient for ten years and still remembers some of the language and scenes of that gospel starved land. "Although born in a Christian home," he stated, •:1 made my decision to follow Christ all the way in my home town of Sebastopol, California. It was in 1946 and a visiting evangelist, the Rev. Sam Rudat so presented the need of the world for Christ that I could not hold on to my selfish interests any longer. That was it, for now I can fruly say: 'He must increase, but I must decrease.'" According to the affable technician of the BIOLA broadcasts; the brightest ray of joy came into his life when he married Elaine Lange Crane, a graduate of 1953 and together they have been working in the Museum Heights Community Church in suburban Highland Park, of which Dave is the pastor.

Sins ore like car headlights; that Is, the other fellow's are always more glaring than your own. . . . . Have you noticed ... When the other fellow is despiteful, he's ugly ... when you act that way, it's just your nerves. When the other fellow is set in his way, he's obstinate .. . when you are, it's just firmness. When the other fellow spends a lot of money, he's extravagant . .. but when you do, it's just generosity. When the other fellow picks flaws in things, he's cranky ... when you do, you're just discriminating. When the other fellow says what he thinks, he's spiteful or judging . . • but when you do, you're just being frank. "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves." • The bod thing about little sins Is that they grow up so fast. . . . . . Christ haS no hands, but our hands to do His work today. He has no feet but our feet to lead men in His way. He has no tongue but our tongues to tell men how He died. · He has no help but our help to bring them to His side. . . . . . TO A FRIEND I spoke to you about your soul today. Perhaps you wished that I would go away And say no more and let you be. But, oh, My cherished friend, if you could only know The longing in my heart for you, the dread Of looking forward, after you are dead, Unto that uncertain day when you must stand Before the Throne of Christi Works of your hand, Fruits of your heart, will not avail, for He Will ask you, "What did you do with Me?" Dear friend of mine, there is no other way Except through Him, whom you deny today. How could I bear it, if in your despair And bitter grief, you cried, "Did she not care Enough for me to speak? to point the way? To save me from this anguish and dismay?" My heart is bleeding thinking of your woe, Your terror, and your helplessness, and so I spoke to you about your soul today. I could not leave you, could not go away.

MISSIONARY - DID YOU KNOW • . . that In mission lands the heathen population Is still increasing far faster than the Christion population? . • . that if one thousand missionaries were sent today to lndia 1 each one could have his own parish of five hundred and rifty densely populated villages? . . . that apart from a few tiny points, an area of four million square miles in the heart of Asia, with a population of a hundred thirty-four million, still lies in unrelieved spiritual darkness? • • . that Arabia, with a population of many millions, has only 50 openly confessed Christians? And that the list could go on and on for . . • UNTOLD • millions ore dying untold?
