Read out the dialogue. Have students guess what words or phrases are missing in the dialogue. Have students complete it. Walk around the classroom and monitor students’ work. Provide help to students who have difficulty. Check the answers as a class. Ask for three volunteers to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Give postive feedback. 2 Write two sentences. Read the sentences aloud. Make up situations for students to act out in pairs. Write 1 on the board. Ask for two volunteers to role play it in front of the class. You are at school and want to go out and play. Ask, What do you say? Accept and write the answers on the board. Write 2 on the board having two volunteers to perform the situation to the class. Y ou don’t have scissors to cut some papers. Ask, What do you say? Accept and write the answers on the board. Give students enough time to write down the answers. Walk around the classroom. Provide assistance to students. Check spelling and give positive feedback. Check the answers as a class. Wrap Up Tell students they are going to practice the ABCs. Play Track 66 and have students listen. Play the track again and encourage students to join in. Repeat several times until students are comfortable saying the ABCs. Encourage students to recite the song without the audio. Choose key words from the unit and have students spell the words chorally. If the group has an overall strong level, have a class spelling bee. Ask students to stand up. Read out key words from the unit and ask students to spell them. If a student spells incorrectly ask him or her to sit down. The students standing at the end of the spelling bee are the winners. Be Curious Have students ask their classmates when their birthdays are. Ask students to report on their classmates’ birthdays and make a list to display in the classroom. When it is a student’s birthday have his classmates say Happy birthday! to him/her.

Warm Up Draw a chart on the board and write Good Manners Chart as a title. Write Greetings, Farewell, and Courtesy expressions as headings. Elicit one of the rules or expressions they have seen throughout the unit, for example, say, Hello or Good morning . Invite students to the front to write it in the corresponding column. Repeat the procedure with other expressions. Check the activity as a group. Use phrases like Good job! Great! Excellent! to motivate students. 1 Look at the picture. Complete the dialogue. Have students open the Activity Book 2 to page 15. Encourage students to describe the pictures. Ask, Where are the girls? What are they doing? Point to the classroom supplies and have students give ideas about the dialogue.
