Tell them to think about why the signs are necessary. Elicit answers. 2 Work in pairs. Design a sign for your classroom. Think of the message, color and illustration. Draw a picture. Ask different students to read out the different messages and check comprehension. Clear up any doubts. Have different students read the messages out loud. Ask students to work in pairs to design a sign for the classroom. Mention they should keep it simple. They can do something similar to the signs in the previous activity. For example: Don’t dance on the desk. Don’t eat in the room. Tell them they can be creative. Walk around providing suggestions and help. 3 What did you put in your sign? Show it to the class and describe it. Invite students to share their signs with the class. Encourage them to explain the reason they chose that sign. For example: Red usually means don’t do something. Encourage students to ask questions about each other’s signs.
