ELEMENT 14.1 - SANCTION FOR TEST
To achieve the lesson learning objectives, the participants can:
120) Take responsibility to operate within a typical SSOW, fulfilling designated roles and responsibilities (Ability, intermediate level)
121) Explain roles, responsibilities and authorisation protocols for working under sanction for test (Knowledge, intermediate level)
122) Take responsibility to verify repair completion and operate under sanction for test or permit to work (Ability, intermediate level)
The instructor shall:
Explain the purpose and principles of Sanction for Test, including when and why it is used in HV systems.
Explain and illustrate the distinction of working under Sanction for Test versus a PTW emphasising when each applies and the key differences between:
a.
working under Sanction for Test
b.
working under PTW
Guide participants through an example Sanction for Test document, explaining roles, authorisations, and safety considerations.
Explain and demonstrate safe control of HV testing within a typical SSOW including:
a.
roles and responsibilities
b.
HV testing hazards, risks and controls
c.
application of earthing
d.
verification of repair and completion
e.
good practices
f.
typical failure points
