The participants shall:
Observe, discuss and ask questions about roles, responsibilities and authorisation protocols for working under sanction for test
Answer questions about good and typical failure points
ELEMENT 14.2 - AWARENESS OF TESTING TYPES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND ASSOCIATED DEVICES
To achieve the lesson learning objectives, the participants can:
123) Distinguish differences in regional practices for testing and associated devices (Skills, intermediate level)
124) Distinguish installed instrumentation and portable equipment, including AVTs, digital multi- meters, injection testing tools, and fault detection - arc flash detection, protective relays (Skills, intermediate level)
125) Show interest in testing activity and related equipment to diagnose issues, including relays, transformers, and partial discharge testing (Ability, basic level)
The instructor shall:
Illustrate and explain types of test and test standards:
a.
typical tests in HV systems
b.
terminology used in different contexts
c. differences in expected or required practice requirements for earthing in different regions
d.
importance of specific OEM and local training
Illustrate the features, functions and application of installed instrumentation and portable equipment such as:
a.
absence of voltage tester (AVT)
b.
grounding systems
c.
digital multi-meters (use in different regions)
d.
injection testing tools
