Illustrate the relevance of HV cable testing to cable pulling through an example incident, story from the workplace or a case study
Explain why and when testing occurs
a.
at manufacturing and possibly after cable pulling
b.
before commissioning of HV systems.
Ask participants to suggest what the impact or consequences would be of a failed HV cable test at different stages during preassembly, construction or service.
The participants shall:
Discuss the importance of HV cable testing after manufacturing and post cable pulling, before commissioning
Ask and answer questions on why HV cable testing is relevant to a HV cable pulling operation.

The aim of this lesson is to provide participants with the skills to conduct a high-quality inspection of the HV cable breakout, and to recognise and report problem or issues.
After having successfully completed this lesson, the participants can:
18) Take responsibility to report any problems identified during breakout inspection (Ability, intermediate level)
19) Explain the key points in a breakout inspection and signs of problems to look out for (Knowledge, intermediate level)
20) Distinguish breakouts in proper and improper conditions for proceeding with the cable pull (Skills, intermediate level)
