Nominators: Evelyn and Zarah Blaesi Angela Blaesi was elected to the North Platte School Board in 2021 and was chosen as its president this year. Her in-home child care center is the only one in North Platte rated Step 5 in the state’s Step Up to Quality program. Her daughters Evelyn and Zarah Blaesi nominated her for Women of Achievement. They noted that while operating her day care, their mother graduated with her associate’s degree, and she is working toward a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and family advocacy at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She has volunteered for the Miss Nebraska Scholarship

Organization with the Little Sister Program for 10 years. “Not only does she care for her own children’s education, she also cares for the education of the children in her child care and for the education of the children in our community. She is willing to do more than just sit and watch what happens in her community. Not only does she want the best for these children, but she is and will continue to advocate for child education in North Platte, Nebraska,” Evelyn and Zarah wrote. Blaesi is also involved in booster club, Communities for Kids and the Nebraska Association for the Education of Young Children.

Nominator: Patrick Jacobson Caitlyn Jacobson has been a dedicated educator for the past eight years, during which time she has shown a true commitment to helping her students succeed. She has been recognized for her innovative teaching methods and her ability to inspire her students to achieve their full potential, wrote her husband, Patrick Jacobson. Recently, Caitlyn began working as a 4-H Extension educator. Her dedication

to the 4-H Extension program and her passion for education have helped to create new opportunities for students to learn and grow, Patrick Jacobson said. She has also been instrumental in building partnerships with local organizations and businesses to provide even more resources and opportunities for her students. He said her passion, dedication and innovative approach to education make her a true asset to the field.
