DLA Highlights Strategy, Agility to Under Secretary for Acquisition and Sustainment DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY PUBLIC AFFAIRS Nancy Benecki The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) director highlighted the agency’s dedication to modernization and agility during a visit by a senior logistics leader. DLA hosted the World- wide Logistics Symposium at its McNamara Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, Va., Sept. 15–16. War Department Continues Nuclear Modernization PENTAGON NEWS David Vergun

In light of the changing global security landscape, the War Department is considering different approaches to modern- era deterrence, said Air Force Maj. Gen. Brandon D. Parker, director of global operations at U.S. Strategic Command. “We see a lot of promise, both in the programs of record, but also in the legacy systems that we have existing today,” he said. “So, while we go through that modernization pro- cess, it’s equally important that we sustain the capabilities that we have today so that we can continue to deter and, if necessary, respond.” (Read more)

A panel of experts at the National Defense Industrial As- sociation’s 2025 Emerging Technologies for Defense Con- ference and Exhibition in Washington addressed the need to field critical systems to Warfighters at speed and scale. “We can’t let perfection be the enemy of good enough. And I don’t say that as a means to say that we’re willing to take risks and put our uniformed men and women at risk,” said Justin McRoberts, program manager for the DoW’s Manu- facturing Science and Technology program. DoD Establishes Joint Interagency Task Force to Deliver Affordable C-sUAS Capabilities to America’s Warfighters PENTAGON NEWS David Vergun To ensure that American airspace remains secure, Secretary Pete Hegseth directed the Secretary of the Army to for- mally establish the Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF 401)—a new, unified team that will bring together our best talent from across all agencies to counter these threats and restore control of our skies. The Task Force will report to the Deputy Secretary of Defense to better align authorities and resources and rapidly deliver Joint C-sUAS capabilities to America’s Warfighters, defeat adversary threats, and pro- mote sovereignty over national airspace.
