Enhancing Cybersecurity Through Supply Chain Risk Management Communications

As the university supports the administration’s efforts to improve the nation’s cybersecurity, “it is imperative to de- fine and articulate the acquisition needs in support of the federal government with immediate focus on the adoption and integration of Contract Supply Chain Risk Management [C-SCRM, pronounced scrim],” said Professor Emeritus Kelly Kiernan. A recent webinar provided the opportunity to discuss the integration of “best practices into every phase of the acquisition life cycle, and for this community to share examples of when government and industry have done this successfully,” she said. (Read more) Get equipped to lead mission-focused, cross-functional col- laboration across acquisition, requirements, and program- ming in the university’s Advanced Acquisition Strategies: Cross-Functional Teaming for Acquisition Success (CFT 4200). This pilot course trains senior acquisition profes- sionals to break down silos, embed expertise early, and ac- celerate delivery through integrated pathways. (Read more) Since 2016, use of Other Transaction (OT) Authorities has grown and is expected to continue expanding. This is partly due to the Defense Innovation Unit’s efforts to refine and de- velop three models of commercial solutions openings with additional hybrid formats in development. A key driver of OT growth in 2025 is Executive Order 14265, Modernizing Defense Acquisitions and Spurring Innovation in the De- fense Industrial Base. Sustaining Military Operations in a Contested Logistics Environment Communications

“The era of uncontested warfare and unconstrained logistics has passed,” said MITRE Corporation’s Principal Logistics Systems Engineer and Group Leader Nathan Mooney II, dur- ing a recent webinar.
