For municipalities, hospitals, contractors and institutions, Sperling’s advice is simple: “Have somebody on call. Do your research now.”

He practices the same way.

When prisons undergoing kitchen renovations, he identified local plumbers, electricians and gas technicians before a problem occurred. deploying trailers to

“Go ahead and build your Rolodex for a disaster.”

He believes that preparation should happen long before the emergency.

“If you don’t have a Rolodex, well, we’re going to build you one.” Government customers, he says, are usually calling because “they have a problem” and “they need it now.”

That is not the moment to begin searching for the people who can help.

Sperling is candid about what he wants U.S. Mobile Solutions to be known for: “Cost- effective and a reliable partner with exceptional quality products.” He left a larger company because he felt the customer had become secondary to profit, and he has no interest in repeating that model.

“I want to be an effective partner with these people.”

He recalls a customer who urgently needed a trailer. Sperling had one available, so he deployed it before the payment was finalized. “We’ll worry about payment later, but let’s get whoever is in need, let’s get them taken care of first. That’s the priority.”

He understands the risk in that approach.
